Darkness
is coming

As the meteor plunges toward Earth, the elite, the powerful, and the ruthless fight for passage aboard the Black Meta Research Facility. Those left outside will die. Those who gain access may suffer an even worse fate. Mutations will occur. Factions will form. Riches will be plundered.

Will you embrace the Darkness?

Metaverse manifesto
Ignore it. Laugh at it. The Metaverse is here to stay. It never left. The world's most successful video games – Grand Theft Auto, Pokemon, Sim City, WarCraft, Minecraft – are the Metaverse built and owned by corporations.

The coming Metaverse is built and owned by players. That's what makes it different. Everyday people own it. Just like everyday people are building it.

Keep in mind, Grand Theft Auto had a release that did $1B+ in the first week, almost as much as the entire Alien Franchise. And George Lucas has them all beat with Star Wars, still one of the highest grossing media franchises in history at almost $70B since inception.

That's the market who is spending in this new world. And one day they will live, play and work in this world. The question is not if the Metaverse will succeed, it’s what ecosystems and stories will win in the end.

The next 5 years will be a renaissance of ideas and creativity that will feel like a game. Millions building in tandem, creating new universes to scale until a truly player operated one wins.

Welcome to Black Meta
Earth's Best Kept Secret
Millennia before, a cluster of rogue alchemists had discovered something staggering, a new element, a gift from the gods, a fissile material so potent that each of its atoms made Hiroshima look like a back rub.

These Dark Shards, as they came to be known, were Earth’s best-kept secret, knowledge passed down from master to acolyte only after decades of proper training.

They were pure power made tangible – to some, a portal to spiritual transcendence, to others, a method of brutal domination. Though this information had found its way into a few elite organizations, the bulk of the power held in one corporation: Black Meta.
Fifty Years of Dominance
In the decades before Earth’s destruction, the shadow factions of Black Meta had used the Dark Shards to silently gain control of every black market, every government, every organization - they were the proud pulsing cancer inside the body politic.

Even in the shining city, they’d provided elite citizens with the most powerful weaponry possible, using back channels and political machinations to exchange destruction for money and power.

But this accumulation of cash wasn’t simply to line their own pockets... it was to fund their radical experiments in space. Drones had been launched, spacecrafts had been built, off-world exploration was imminent.
The End Is the Beginning
As the doomsday meteor plunged toward the planet, Black Meta leveraged the last of its secrets, gathered its acolytes, and exchanged their remaining weapons for impossible amounts of supplies.

The massive research station fired up and entered orbit, taking the brightest, the most well-connected, and the most ruthless. Over the next century, though, things would change. In space, the risk was higher, but so were the rewards.

Mutations were more common, but commensurate with increased lethal power. Neural technology would be implanted in the elite, and some would transcend their bodies entirely. Chimeras, waifus, cyber screamers, spirits, and g-men.
Embrace the darkness
