Factions

When the meteor came, the ship was revealed, and the refugee horde charged. The first to gain access were the Black Market Dealers and the core factions underpinning the Black Meta organization: the most elite members of the MetaMasons, the Order, Chaos, the Unspoken, and of course, the Yami Gang.

The stowaways aligned themselves with existing factions, expecting no riches but only protection, ready to serve in whatever capacity they could. And there, over the next hundred years, the divisions grew worse, the tribalism more entrenched.

Choose a Faction
You avoided annihilation for now.

You fought your way aboard the ship, en route to the riches and pain of Trinity West.

Yet, your journey is just starting. Over the century-long flight, amidst evolution and death, between scraping together enough calories to keep meat on your frame and holding onto your sanity, factions have formed.

Both a threat and an opportunity, your choice today will bind you to a group who will protect, guide, and champion your path.

Choose wisely. Decisions have consequences.
Black Meta Factions
Meta Masons
THE META MASONS are the original protectors of the Dark Shards, the first to discover and harness their nearly limitless power. Lurking in the shadows for millennia, they’ve been known by many names: Freemasons, Illuminati, Knights Templar… but these titles have been nothing more than words applied by a desperate public, struggling to name the void.

The reality is that their great strength, carved into weaponry, has allowed them to control all human societies… until now. With the near-total obliteration of Earth, everything they’ve built is gone, all their carefully-constructed power structures, decimated.

Today, the Meta Mason’s survival depends on their wit, their near-total exclusivity, and the fear of their enemies. The generation ship is in their control… but will they hold Trinity West?
The Order
THE ORDER were the first splinter group from the Meta Masons. While they are original believers in the strength of the Dark Shards, they are also confident that true success -- both for individuals and for the entire race -- relies on cooperation and strong democratic institutions.

During the long interplanetary travel, they’ve rejected the inherent divide between the haves and have-nots, slowly accumulating power through political dealings, equitable food redistribution, and a central focus on oral hygiene.

The unwashed masses want them in power and are willing to fight for them… but will it be enough to dislodge the powerful grip of the Meta Masons? Trinity West may function best with a strong central government, but history doesn’t care about “best,” it cares only about “strength.”
Unspoken
THE UNSPOKEN exist in the shadows, their creed unknown even to the highest ranking Meta Masons.

What is clear is that they have existed since the beginning, protecting their arcane knowledge with an iron fist.

It is expected that the first cracks in their centuries-long stronghold will be visible in the harsh sun of Trinity West, and their true powers -- or the lies existing at their core -- will be revealed.
Chaos
CHAOS is more a movement than a tribe, elevating the rights of the individual above all else.

Disgusted by the power hungry Meta Masons and confident in the eventual failure of centralized government, the ethos of Chaos is to return total control to the people, to destroy any who would claim to rise above anyone else.

Their constant attacks on the Meta Masons have obliterated the totalitarian infrastructure, leaving room for The Order to gain a foothold -- but they reject democratic control as much as they reject the tight fist of centralized power.

To them, Trinity West is an open frontier with enough space for anyone strong enough to claim it.
Yami Gang
THE YAMI GANG, old money personified, built their power from the chaos and death of World War II, leveraging the connections and ruthlessness of the Japanese Yakuza. For decades, they were the dominant purveyor of advanced nuclear weaponry, raking in money from every country with aspirations of dominance.

Little did they know that Black Meta was pushing them into irrelevance by providing far more lethality in much smaller packages. If anything, the world-ending comet was a godsend for the surviving fat cats, as they never had to face the shame of being bankrupted by the wily Black Market Dealers.

Purely through well-placed bribes, the Yami Gang snagged a spot on the interstellar transport… but found themselves totally surrounded by enemies. The ship’s underdogs, these one-time titans of industry have a long road to climb back to (according to them) their rightful position as wealthy and powerful leaders of men.
Dealers
BLACK MARKET DEALERS are the smallest faction… by choice. Composed of the solo operators and behind-the-scenes merchants of Black Meta’s destructive creations, they have a code of ethics driven by power, ruthlessness, and profit.

Each capable of running their own corporation, this elite-group-turned-crime-family moved under the banner of Black Meta for one reason: access to the most efficient death-dealing weapons in the history of planet Earth.

For far too long they’ve used the shadows as protection, but in the garish lights of the ship hallways and the bright sun of Trinity West… they can hide no longer. As individuals, they are feared. Unified, they are nearly unstoppable.
